Our Mission
At the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling, our mission extends beyond addressing hunger within our community. We recognize that along with food insecurities comes a pressing need for health and wellness support—they are intertwined aspects of well-being. That’s why we’ve forged partnerships with local organizations like Wheeling Health Right, Greater Wheeling Coalition for the Homeless, and our local Kroger Pharmacy.
We were founded on the premise that everybody, no matter what they believe, what they look like or who they are, deserves to live without food insecurity.
Our official mission of the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling Inc. is to be more than just a place to satisfy hunger; but a symbol of resilience and community spirit, where strangers become friends, where smiles are shared, and hope is renewed with each nourishing meal.
